Leave of Absence is an opportunity at Olin College that historically was used for leaves due to Medical Problems. However, in recent years LOA has started to be a unique academic opportunity. Students are using it to turn Olin into a five year experience instead of a four year experience and making different academic goals.
This website will chronicle the story of six LOAs through the 2008-2009 academic year. Throughout the year we'll be working to start our own business of some variety, do various projects together, and have independent pursuits. We're also all living together in our new home- Mauna Loa, a house in nearby Waltham, MA.
More will be coming on the business as we move forward in the next few days- but for now know that we're working on a multitouch table, our own RFID card readers, and getting our house and workspace all set up. Stay tuned to our blog to see how everything is going!
